Discussion Notes
1. First Week of April for Broad Invite; 15 April "Launch of OSI-EDU-WG"
- Intro + Invitation text to be co-draft here http://osi.xwiki.com/bin/Projects/DraftingWiki_WG_ManagementEducation
- Keep in mind the diverse communities of practice with an interest in this (developer/user roles)
- practicing instructors
- lawyers
- developers and development managers
- execs, finance and investment analysts
- 15 April "Launch Meeting" via BBB
- Some Java version issues at start-up
- Patrick, can you arrange for a BBB support contact?
- Also give invitees a link to test BBB
- Weekly Calls
- don't over-organize these, the current informal approach is fine
- iterative growth & development tied to practice
- interests will expand organically
- breadth of the syllabus should attract different types of communities of practice
- good that the topics are broader than technical competence
2. Prototype Online Course
- Challenge: Design and Deliver a pilot online course, a prototype, as a joint effort
- Timely topic: "Understanding the CLS Bank International v. Alice Corporation Decision"
- Details here: http://osi.xwiki.com/bin/Projects/draft-flow-syllabus#HRealWorldPatentCourtCases
- A great case to serve as a catalyst
- Course design for very mixed groups (lawyers; developers; investment folk)
- Regarding depth, let each educator determine what they use for their participants
- Let's think this through further
