Many of the efforts underway within the OSI (e.g. committee work, operation, working groups) require direct participation by Board members. I was wondering about what level of participation you will be able to provide and how your time might be best spent?
Hi Patrick, the amount of time I'd be able to put into the board would be several hours during the week and also several hours during the weekend also. So I am frequently available to engage in duties and requirements for the board. My time may be best spent helping with the I.T Infrastructure of the OSI, public awareness and promotion of OSI from within the board, event organisation here in the UK and liaison with current Open Source/Free Software event organisers to involve the OSI directly for further promotion of the OSI, direct links and involvement with the OSI to the British Computer Society (BCS), of which I am also a committee member.
