Many of the efforts underway within the OSI (e.g. committee work, operation, working groups) require direct participation by Board members. I was wondering about what level of participation you will be able to provide and how your time might be best spent?
Thanks for the question Patrick! I'm in a position these days where the group I'm working with puts a premium on keeping engaged in communities we care about and can learn new things. At the same time, doing consultation work we go through busy and not as busy periods. Having talked this over with friends, I'm committed to putting in whatever time is necessary as OSI is an organization and a community I care about.
This also means that even if I'm not lucky enough to be elected to a board position, I would like to join a working group which I can be of the most help. For what its worth, I am excited to see this direction by OSI where members can help with the mission and direction.
