Many of the efforts underway within the OSI (e.g. committee work, operation, working groups) require direct participation by Board members. I was wondering about what level of participation you will be able to provide and how your time might be best spent?
Hi Patrick! First and foremost, as I'm based in Europe, I'd be more than happy to contribute to the Boards outreach within my geographic area. I think public outreach and activities to promote understanding within our field is an important activity to engage in. Given my engagements within a number of different organisations all dedicated to roughly the same agenda - including Open Source Sweden (lead by Björn Lundell) - I'd also be keen to engage and spend time on activities that seek to increase collaboration and cross-pollination of ideas between different organisations.
One thing to note though is that as of right now, I'm on parental leave with my son until the summer, and as such, my time up until the summer is rather limited. However, I am able to participate and contribute but the bulk of my time would be contributed after the summer.
